Health Services Research and Health Economics Study Group (HSRHE-SG)

Reference group for EASD in matters related to health services research and health economics

Founding of the HSRHE Study Group in 2018

The group was established in 2018 to close the gaps in the field of diabetes with regard to health services research and health economics in conjunction with clinical research and practice.

The aim of the group is to consolidate existing research activities, and further expand and develop them. This involves, for example, patient-centered care and, in particular, patient preferences in diabetes treatment. Another central field of work is health economic aspects for complications of diabetes.

The group collaborates with other reference groups of the EASD, eg the Diabetic Foot Study Group (DFSG), the Psychosocial Aspects of Diabetes Study Group (PSAD) and Exercise and Physical Activity Study Group (ExPAS).

A meeting is held annually where all members are invited. Further symposia with a thematic focus offers the opportunity for further training and interdisciplinary exchange. Through the group, members have joined forces to work on international projects and current topics.

A first joint project of the Group has been finished, resulting in a first paper in collaboration with the DFSG: William Jeffcoate, Frances Game, Stephan Morbach, Maria Narres, Kristien Van Acker, and Andrea Icks.
